Had this combo for around 2 years and caught plenty of fish, but sadly, recently I did set the hook a little to hard on what turns out to be a log and the pole just snapped right in half. I'm not complaining, and I will be in the market for another pflueger combo, I absolutely love the way they're balance and they're just overall amazing poles.

I bought the Monarch combo this spring for a decent price at Fleet Farm with pretty low expectations. Just wanted another rod in the boat to throw stuff around. I've used it for a little bit of everything - panfish, trolling lindy rigs for walleyes, and wacky rigging for bass. Sensitive enough and an ok backbone. For the price point I can't complain. The rod did snap on me trolling through weeds but customer service was very quick and understanding - they sent me a new combo no questions asked! Thanks Pflueger - this kind of customer service is how you create loyal customers.
