i bought two of these reels a year ago for slamon/steelhead fishing . within a year iv had to get the reel serviced, mainly my fault that time, but also within a year now the handled has fallen off. iv seen other people say this about this reel hoping i can get something worked out to fix or replace this reel. the reel works great but if they don't last more then one szn not worth 100$.

I bought 6 of the President XT Limited Edition reels and the grips fell off all of the handles. I used lock-tite and put them back on and they still fell off. I have called customer service 8 times and they know nothing about these reels? I gave them the reel model number and even sent a picture of the reels once. They have no clue what I am talking about. I have messaged and no replies. I just want new arm assemblies that are hopefully have been updated to stop this problem. I do not recommend the President XT reels. I can say the normal Presidents are great. Just wish this company took pride in their customer service.

I purchased my first President XT about 2 years ago and fell in love with the design, ease of use, and pure quality. I now own 9 President XT reels in every size for all types of fishing! BEST value on the market hands down.

I now own 4 versions of the President series reels. Great reel for a great price. However, the dust caps on the end of the handle don't want to stay on. I continue to have them unscrew from the handle. To this point I have been lucky enough to be able to recover them except for this last time. I have completely lost 2 of them and for some reason I am unable to find a way to order them from Pflueger. Found a guy on eBay that sells them for a ridiculous amount of money. What should be a .25 cent part is $10 on eBay. And the part he sells doesn't work for the the model: pfl sp pres xtsp 35 but does work for the 30. Although it is supposed to work for several versions. I would have given this 5 stars if not for this issue.

I received the reel and it was smaller than expected, but it doesn't matter because this thing holds up. I used it for anything from panfish to king salmon. The drag system is great and it casts like a charm. Great for braid or mono. Really impressed with the quality seeing that it's under $100.
