One of my favorite reel because it’s so smooth. However, dropped it in water, the reel started to seize up and for the rest of the trip, reeling was difficult.

Surprised such a high quality reel is not water proof.

Thenew crank seems to better than previous president model been too much rain here to wet a line yet but trials in yard resulted in smooth retrieve. Black looksgoodbut liked the red on black of previous generation

i bought two of these reels a year ago for slamon/steelhead fishing . within a year iv had to get the reel serviced, mainly my fault that time, but also within a year now the handled has fallen off. iv seen other people say this about this reel hoping i can get something worked out to fix or replace this reel. the reel works great but if they don't last more then one szn not worth 100$.

I bought 6 of the President XT Limited Edition reels and the grips fell off all of the handles. I used lock-tite and put them back on and they still fell off. I have called customer service 8 times and they know nothing about these reels? I gave them the reel model number and even sent a picture of the reels once. They have no clue what I am talking about. I have messaged and no replies. I just want new arm assemblies that are hopefully have been updated to stop this problem. I do not recommend the President XT reels. I can say the normal Presidents are great. Just wish this company took pride in their customer service.
