    Smooth, accurate, beautiful, affordable

    Okay, I have the 5/6 and it is disc drag, not click-and-pawl. Someone made a mistake in the description and everyone just copied it. If you can get over that, you'll likely find this to be a nice reel for a great price. I also have the new (2021) Medalist and I think I like this reel just as much mechanically and a little more aesthetically. The decorative trim and hardware on the new Medalist isn't quite up to its $130 price tag. The drag on this Monarch has a greater range and it appears and feels similar in quality, but a little classier, to be totally honest. I think this reel is a bargain at the $52 I paid for it.and would definitely recommend it at around that price. Enjoy!

    good reel but not what advertised

    This is an affordable aluminum cast reel but the drag for the 5/6 reel is disc, not click-pawl. I would recommend with the understanding that it is a disc drag reel. The drag is very adjustable

    Your on-line description of the drag system for your Monarch Fly Reel is incorrect. The on-line description says click and pawl when the actual drag system is disk drag. The on-line information is wrong and misleading and should be corrected.
