I bout this in Wyoming on vacation and tried trout fishing, rivers were up to much and didn’t catch anything, I brought it back to Missouri and it is now my crappie rod, even caught some decent bass. I couldn’t be more happy with it for the price! Exactly what I wanted!

I bought this on a whim to take with me on a recent vacation. I fish mainly lakes and target smallmouth and largemouth bass. I had noticed on a previous trip bass feeding on the surface on spiders and flying insects at typical times and figured it would be worth a shot over the week to see if some of the topwater bass-specific flies would work and at this price what was the downside. I was nervous since I fish from a kayak and had never used a fly rod before. This was perfect! Can't recommend it enough to give fly fishing a try. I'll upgrade for sure. On 3 of the 7 nights, I caught fish on the rod when nothing else was working. On top of that fighting a bass on a fly rod from a kayak was the best experience I had all week.

This combo kit is the best I have used; I just bought 3 of them because the 3 I bought 5 years ago work so well. I take my kids and their friends fishing about 3 times a year and this combo pack is no joke; from the pole to the reel to the fly line quality, best bargain in fly fishing.
